6 Best Natural Remedies for Tinnitus

Hearing a constant buzz in your ears can be extremely irritating. This is how some people are affected by tinnitus. Others experience a high squeal. These symptoms may subside during the day but are usually aggravated at night or when lying down. Unfortunately, conventional medicine does not have a cure for tinnitus but thankfully, there are a number of natural tinnitus treatment options available.
Plus, there are a number of advantages to natural tinnitus treatment. Firstly, the things you need are usually easily available at home. Secondly, natural remedies have negligible side effects and hence are safe for children and adults alike. Some of the most effective natural tinnitus treatment options are as follows:

Apple cider vinegar
Apple cider vinegar is a well-known anti-fungal and anti-inflammatory agent which helps in various other diseases. This type of natural tinnitus treatment addresses the underlying causes of tinnitus and balances the alkaline levels in a person’s body. To benefit from apple cider vinegar, mix two teaspoons of this vinegar and a little honey in a glass of water. This solution should be drunk twice or thrice a day until the ringing noise in the ear subsides.

Garlic
Garlic has a number of health benefits. One of these is its anti-inflammatory properties that make it an excellent form of natural tinnitus treatment. This property of garlic also helps improve blood circulation and ensures that the ear receives all the nutrients that it needs to heal. Also, the anti-bacterial properties of garlic help it fight any secondary infections that may be aggravating the problem. Garlic is effective especially in cases of tinnitus caused by exposure to cold weather or high altitudes.
To benefit from garlic, you could add it as a flavoring agent to your food, buy garlic capsules or make garlic oil and put this in your ear. To make this oil, crush two cloves of garlic and mix with a teaspoon of sesame oil. Fry this oil a little and then strain and allow it to cool. To treat tinnitus, put two to three drops of this oil into the ear canal at night before going to bed.

Ginger
When speaking of herbs that have medicinal properties, one can definitely not forget ginger. This tuber boosts blood circulation and helps fight against free radicals and pathogens. It also has pain relieving properties that make it an excellent form of natural tinnitus treatment. The best way to absorb all the properties of ginger is to chew a raw slice of ginger. The action of chewing also helps relieve pressure on the ear that could be contributing to tinnitus. Alternatively, you could grate fresh ginger and add half a teaspoon of this to a cup of hot water. Steep this tea for 10 minutes and strain it. You could add a little honey to sweeten the tea, if you like. This ginger tea should be consumed twice or thrice a day.

Mustard oil
Mustard oil has anti-fungal properties that can help treat tinnitus and the pain caused by it. It also improves blood circulation and strengthens the immune system. In addition, when applied topically, mustard oil also has the ability to remove earwax buildup. To use this natural tinnitus treatment, warm a little mustard oil and put a few drops into the affected ear. Allow the oil to stand for a few minutes. Tilt your head to drain out the oil. You can then remove the softened ear wax with some earbuds. This process can be repeated daily for a week.

Saline solution
The ear and nose are interconnected and hence a blocked nose or sinusitis could cause tinnitus. This type of tinnitus can be treated with a saline solution. To make this solution, mix one teaspoon of glycerin and salt in two cups of warm water. Pour this solution into a nasal spray bottle. With your head tilted back, use this to spray each nostril with the saline solution. You can also spray the solution into your throat. Do this thrice a day until your nose is clear and the tinnitus has been relieved.

Pumpkin
Vitamin A deficiency could be one of the factors causing tinnitus. This is because vitamin A is needed for the proper functioning of the inner ear, which is in turn responsible for receiving and transmitting sounds. Thus consuming more vitamin A can help relieve this pain. Pumpkin is one of the richest sources of vitamin A and should be included in your diet when suffering from tinnitus. Pumpkin can be eaten in many forms. For example, grilled, baked, pureed, stuffed etc.

These remedies should be beneficial in treating tinnitus, but if you experience any worsening of the pain, loss of balance, vertigo, nausea or numbness of the face, consult your doctor immediately.
