Causes of sore throat allergies
One of the prime causes of sore throat allergies is a post nasal drip.

The nose is inhabited by a sticky, moist substance called mucus. The mucus lining is responsible for keeping the nasal channel moist. It also helps fight bacteria, virus, and allergies. It is often observed that you tend to swallow some mucus unconsciously. This feeling of swallowing the mucus is called post nasal drip.

When you suffer from a cold, the level and viscosity of the mucus increases. Mucus build can increase due to allergies and congestion as well. This causes itchiness or scratchiness in the throat. Thus, you experience sore throat allergies.

Medications
It isn’t practical to avoid allergens all the time, so taking medicines can be a good alternative. Medicines like antihistamines, corticosteroids, and leukotriene are effective.
OTC medicines like loratadine and cetirizine are also effective in curing sore throat allergies. Your physician can prescribe nasal sprays and decongestants to clear the nasal passage.

Control underlying causes
It is important to know the cause of your sore throat allergies. It is necessary to get rid of the allergen permanently to relieve yourself of the trouble.
Taking the advice of your physician to remove the allergen from your environment can also help. Look for preventive measures like masks or inhalers.

Keep your house mold and dust free and shut windows if pollutants are around. If you’re allergic to smoke, then avoid being around smokers. A passive smoker is at a higher risk than an active one.
