Remedies for Premature Ejaculation

Premature ejaculation is a condition that makes the men ejaculate early during sexual intercourse and in some cases even before intercourse. You may believe that this happens only when men get older. But the fact is that men across all ages can suffer from premature ejaculation.

Premature ejaculation is uncontrolled and usually happens with the least amount of sexual stimulation and before the person wishes and can leave both partners unsatisfied sexually. Generally, ejaculation can be voluntarily controlled but men who suffer from this health issue can feel insecure and it often increases their nervousness, which can add to the underlying concern. Premature ejaculation is one of the most common forms of male dysfunction and affects every man at some point in his life.

The causes of premature ejaculation in most cases is unclear. There are other factors like age, sexual experience. As men mature they learn to delay their orgasm. It can also happen if the man is with a new partner or in cases where ejaculation is happening after a long time. Mentally, factors like nervousness, guilt, and depression can cause PE. Hormonal imbalances, injury, or a side effect of certain medications can also cause one to ejaculate prematurely.

It can be a permanent problem, which may require special attention or it could be a problem faced occasionally. If it is the latter then you don’t need to be worried about it as it gets better over time.

It is considered premature ejaculation if the following happens.

  • Ejaculating within 1 minute of penetration or in less than 3 minutes
  • Unable to control ejaculation voluntarily and it happens before you realize.

Scientifically pre-ejaculation is defined when someone ejaculates in less than three minutes or even one minute in some cases. But some men expect their performance to be much higher and ejection in five minutes is a problem. It is important for men who think like that to understand it is not an issue. Such thoughts may prove harmful for their personal and social life as they may feel embarrassed or ashamed.

While there are many reasons for this problem, it is found that it is best cured by the mixture of both premature ejaculation medication and therapy. Here are some therapies that can be tried for a cure.

Premature ejaculation medication is approved by FDA and visiting a doctor (preferably a sexologist) to get it treated is recommended. While there is no specific premature ejaculation medication, your doctor might prescribe anti-depressant pills. This is because the side effect of such pills is probably the cure for you. It increases the ejaculation time and thus, many people find it a useful way to overcome the problem. Do not try this without consulting a doctor as it may prove to be harmful to you. Another option is to use a condom which will reduce the sensation in your penis, in turn, increasing the ejaculation time.

Research has shown that therapies are very effective for premature ejaculation as it is mostly a psychological problem rather than a physical disorder. It will require great commitment and support from your loved ones. Some useful therapies are described below.

Psychological therapy: As mentioned, Premature ejaculation is often linked with psychology and psychological therapies can be effective as it may help you to increase the self-control and reduce the excess excitement during sexual intercourse.

Sex therapy: Sex therapy is the process of curing and learning about sex after a long interval from intimacy. This is a long process and needs a deep commitment to being carried out. However, the results are positive if followed in the right way and are a safe bet to try along with the premature ejaculation medication.

Home remedies
If your problem is simpler than this then you may help you. For instance, if you time is six minutes and you wish to increase it to ten, then there is no need to visit a doctor for the same. Here are some simple tricks you can try.

  • Try to think of something else during the act to distract yourself and increase the time of your ejaculation. However, it might not be very pleasing for some people and some might find it unnatural.
  • Use a local anesthetic gel and rub it on your penis to increase your ejaculation.
  • Try a different position like lying on your back during intercourse.

The most effective treatment for this problem is premature ejaculation medication. However, therapies can also be trusted but is a time-consuming method. As mentioned earlier, you can have the best results by doing the both simultaneously. It is not something to be ashamed of and hidden as it may harm your love life. If you are facing this problem then you should see a doctor and talk to your partner about it, so that you can face it together and have a healthy relationship.
