Following a well-balanced diet plan is never easy. It should ideally consist of essential nutrients like carbohydrates, vitamins, proteins, and minerals all in right proportion. Effective diet plans not only promote a healthy lifestyle but also maintain body weight. Most people believe in eating tasteless food or starving to lose weight. However, that is completely unnecessary. A balanced diet with all the required nutrients will give you the desired result. So, to maintain a healthy body, it is important to maintain a well-balanced diet regardless of whether you are fat, thin or in-between. Effective diet plans play a crucial role in maintaining health by preventing diseases, controlling weight and providing the right nutrients to the body.

Major Components of an Effective Diet –

Effective diet plans are a combination of major nutrients like vitamins and minerals, protein, carbohydrates, and fats.Apart from maintaining a proper weight, a healthy diet help in reducing body fat promotes good sleep and overall well-being.

Vitamins and Minerals
These are essential micronutrients that are essential for our body to maintain various function. Apart from boosting immunity, vitamins help in metabolism and make bones stronger. By adding green leafy vegetables like broccoli, spinach, beans, and lettuce, you’ll get the essential nutrients required for your body.

Protein
Protein repairs damaged cell and help in cell growth.Protein is also crucial for growth during childhood, adolescence, and pregnancy. Protein is found in pulses like whole grams, peas, chickpeas, beans, peanuts, milk, fish, and meat. Your daily diet should consist about 30-35% protein.

Carbohydrates
Carbohydrates are the main source of energy of the body.Hence one shouldn’t avoid it, and rather consume whole grains such as brown rice, wheat, potatoes, fruits, vegetables, etc. in moderation. They are rich in fiber and can keep you full for a longer period.

Fats
Fats are the main source of energy, apart from providing vitamins, they help in synthesizing hormones. There are mainly three types of fats- polyunsaturated, monounsaturated and omega-3 fatty acids.

Oils are essential when it comes to cooking. However one must avoid using vegetable oil as they contain fats that are harmful to the body.

To follow an effective diet plan, you can maintain a diet chart and keep a tab on the type of food you consume and how much you consume. A diet chart is a solution for those who fail to maintain it and suffer from irregular eating habit. Here are a few more things one must know to maintain a diet.

Right time to eat
Most effective diet plans consist of five meals a day. A gap of three hours is there between each meal to keep the cholesterol level in check by controlling the secretion of stress hormone. Eating the right food at the right time helps in better digestion.

Make a list of healthy foods
Do your research about various food and their health benefits. Research and gather knowledge about the foods that contain protein or which foods contain carbohydrates, and so on.

Avoid processed foods
Nowadays, people prefer processed foods, as they are readily available. However, these foods are unhealthy and contain excess sugar, salt, and fat. Replace the processed foods with fruits and vegetables to get better results.

Dairy products are rich sources of calcium that promote healthy bones and regulate muscle contraction. Inadequate calcium level may make you susceptible to various bone diseases and osteoporosis. Over consumption of sugar may lead to various diseases like diabetes, insulin resistance, obesity and heart disease. It increases your waistline too.

In order to maintain a healthy lifestyle, regular exercise is necessary along with effective diet plans.One of the best forms of exercise is walking or jogging. If you’re more conscious about your body, then visit the gym daily or go cycling. A diet should change as per your fitness level. Have a piece of fruit or whole grain snack before sweating it out in the gym. Take a step towards lifestyle change for the better and lead a healthy happy life.
